Inspiration

For me, ceramics is a medium that allows me to free myself from the boundaries between art, craft and design.
My work focuses on the form and sometimes the functionality of everyday objects, but above all on their symbolic and poetic dimension.

I am inspired by many things, from Nature to contemporary art, via the Bauhaus and traditional pottery.

“Sur la plage abandonnée” is a collection of unique, sculptural pieces in raw stoneware, modelled using pellets.
Organic shapes and earthy tones, inspired by the little shells known as barnacles.

By changing the scale, I try to show what appeals to me: the curves, the layers, shades of colour, contrasts.
I start from reality and work towards abstraction. I'm looking for a line, a balance, a form that vibrates.

Technique

I have chosen to focus on clay, raw, without enamel or colouring, just shades of clay.
Some are smooth, others with chamotte, a play of textures.
It's all about working with the material, without artifice.
